Oath of Office
Under the Chapter Constitution, the Governing Board of the New York Metropolitan Chapter ASPA consists of two elected Chapter Officers, two appointed Chaper Officers, and the eight-member Chapter Council.  The Chapter members elect Officers for one year terms.  The Chapter members elect Council Members for two-year terms.  The two additional Chapter Officers, Treasurer and Secretary, are nominated by the Chapter President and appointed by the Chapter Council.

          I, (name), do solemnly swear or affirm, that I will support the principles embodied in the Code of Ethics of the American Society for Public Administration to serve the public interest; respect the Constitution and laws of New York State and the United States of America; demonstrate personal integrity; promote ethical standards; and strive for professional excellence in the public service.
           I, (name), do solemnly swear or affirm, that I will faithfully and impartially
discharge and perform all the duties incumbent on me as (office) of the New York
Metropolitan Chapter of ASPA, according to the best of my abilities and understanding, pursuant to the constitution, by-laws and policies of ASPA and of the New York Metropolitan Chapter.
