IPAC National Leadership Conference - The Changing Game: Winning Through Collaborative Leadership

The National Leadership Conference is the third in IPAC's series of leadership conferences. This conference will bring senior leaders from government and the broader public sector together to learn from each other, build beneficial networks, inspire and be inspired to greater success. Speakers include leaders across all sectors who have applied innovative and collaborative approaches to achieving success.
Keynote speakers include:
Jean-René Halde, President and CEO, Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC) will speak about how to build leadership capacity in organizations, as well as about how to transfer leadership skills from one sector to another.
Margaret Bloodworth, National Security Advisor to the Prime Minister and Associate Secretary of Cabinet, Government of Canada, will provide her wisdom and insight on the collaborative leadership required to meet national and international challenges.
LGen. The Honourable Roméo Dallaire (retired Commander of UN Forces in Rwanda), Senator will speak on "The New Leadership A Humanistic Approach".
John Furlong, Chief Executive Officer, Vancouver Organizing Committee for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, will speak on "Demonstrated Successful Leadership: Utilizing high performers to build high-performance teams."
Over the two days speakers will explore elements of private sector leadership and innovation; leadership and social responsibility; transformative experiences in the public sector; generational synergy; leadership wisdom and changing the leadership dynamic. Come hear how successful leaders think!

Balanced Collaborative Governance in Integrated Healthcare Delivery Systems

The Police Advisory Board will advise Council through the Standing Policy Committee on Protection and Community Services on annual Police Service business plans: their performance targets related to crime prevention and enhancement of neighbourhood safety: their effectiveness in deployment of resources and tactics in crime prevention and neighbourhood safety efforts, both as a measure of achievement of annual business plan targets and as a value for money function of budget allocations made by City Council; the effectiveness of their efforts to liaise with community groups; the effectiveness of reporting regularly to the public on crime trends and occurrences in all districts of the City; and such other related issues as they are directed to report on by the Standing Policy Committee on Protection and Community Services, The Board also advises on the response by the Chief of Police to findings under The Law Enforcement Review Act related to accusations of police misconduct.
To support its work, the Board is seeking a strongly-motivated individual who will report to the Board Chair and advise the Board with respect to police services; conduct research, analysis, report writing as directed on all areas within the Board's mandate; develop strong links with other police commissions across North America to determine best practices for the measurement of police effectiveness and efficiency; manage office operations and plan, organize and monitor all Board functions.
You have previous experience in research and public policy development, with demonstrated capabilities in qualitative analysis. You have strong planning and organizational skills, research and analytical skills, communication skills, interpersonal and team skills. You have a university degree in public administration, political science, law, economics or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

La Conférence du Leadership national est la troisième d'une suite de conférences sur le leadership offertes par l'IAPC.
