The New York Chapter of ASPA will host an event on Wednesday, December 13, 2006. It will be at Pranzo, which is on Water St. in Lower Manhattan. It will be at 6 pm. At 7 pm, we will have a little holiday party (pizza and salad). What to do with a Public Affairs Degree DATE: Thursday, March 20th, 2003 TIME: 6:00PM - 7:30PM LOCATION: Baruch College Vertical Campus 55 Lexington Avenue (at 24th Street) 14th Floor Conference Center Manhattan The Students for Public Affairs Interests group at Baruch College invites you to an informational evening sponsored by the NY Metro Chapter of the American Society for Public Administration (ASPA). If you ever thought about getting a degree in public affairs/administration, or have the degree and are interested in which sectors to look for jobs and internships, then this night is just for you. A panel of current participants in government, non-profits, graduate schools, and law schools will speak about their professions, what a public affairs degree can do for you, and take any questions you may have for them. Chapter Welcome Back Program Event The Chapter will host a Welcome Back Reception at the Brooklyn Campus of Long Island University on October 2, 2003 at 6:00PM. DATE/TIME: October 2, 2003, 6:00PM LOCATION: Long Island University Brooklyn Campus Flatbush Avenue at DeKalb Avenue Humanities Building, Seventh Floor School of Business, Schloss Conference Room Directions to Long Island University, Brooklyn Campus To access Long Island University, enter at the visitor's entrance at the corner of Flatbush Avenue and DeKalb in Downtown Brooklyn. That entrance is across from Junior's Restaurant in the former Paramount Theater building. The guard will issue a visitor's pass and provide instructions to the Humanities building. The School of Business is on the 7th floor and the Schloss conference room is in the School offices. The School is open until 7:00 p.m. so someone will be there to show you to the conference room. Transportation access points are shown below: SUBWAY: The Brooklyn Campus of Long Island University is served by all subway lines. IRT: 4 or 5 trains (Lexington Avenue lines) or the 2 or 3 trains (Seventh Avenue) to Nevins Street Station. BMT: M, N, Q or R trains to DeKalb Avenue Station. IND: A, C or G trains (Eighth Avenue Line) to Hoyt-Schermerhorn Street Station. D train (Sixth Avenue Line) to DeKalb Avenue Station. TRAIN: The Long Island Rail Road's Flatbush Avenue terminal is four blocks from campus. AUTOMOBILE: Municipal parking is available on Flatbush Avenue Extension, directly across from the University. There also is a parking garage on DeKalb Avenue between Rockwell Place and Hudson Avenue. From Queens - Take the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway west to the Tillary Street Exit. Follow Tillary Street to Flatbush Avenue Extension. The Brooklyn Campus is on the corner of Flatbush Avenue Extension and DeKalb Avenue. From Manhattan- Via Manhattan Bridge - proceed along Flatbush Avenue Extension to Myrtle Avenue, left to Ashland Place, right to DeKalb Avenue (2 blocks); Via Brooklyn Bridge - proceed along Adams Street, make left turn onto Tillary Street; after crossing Flatbush Avenue Extension bear right onto Navy Street which becomes Ashland Place and continue to Dekalb Avenue (2 blocks after Myrtle Avenue). From Staten Island or Brooklyn - Take the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway east to Cadman Plaza West. Follow Cadman Plaza West to Tillary Street. Turn left onto Tillary Street then right on Flatbush Avenue Extension. The Brooklyn Campus is on the left. To return to the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway Queens-bound - Take Flatbush Avenue extension Tillary Street. Turn right on Tillary Street and then stay to the left. Enter ramp for Brooklyn-Queens Expressway. To return to the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway Brooklyn-bound - Take Flatbush Avenue Extension to Tillary Street. Turn left on Tillary Street to Cadman Plaza West. Make a right on Cadman Plaza West. Bear left to enter the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway. |

The American Society For Public Administration New York Metropolitan Chapter Presents a Tour of New York City's 311 Citizen Service Center on Tuesday, October 28, 2003 at 5:00 PM 59 Maiden Lane Lower Manhattan Get a glimpse of the City of New York's 311 initiative courtesy of the NYC Department of Information Technology and Telecommunications and find out how the 311 implementation has progressed, what challenges were overcome, and how residents have benefited from improved access to comprehensive information about city facilities and services.
