Chapter Welcome Back Program Event
The Chapter will host a Welcome Back Reception at the Brooklyn Campus of Long Island University on October 2, 2003 at 6:00PM. Directions for reaching the campus are below.
President Report
I would like to welcome all new and returning members to our 2003-2004 program year. We are developing an interesting year for your enjoyment.
The first of the three activities which we are planning this year is our welcome back reception for ASPA members on 10/2 at LIU at 6 PM. This will be a "mix and mingle" session where you can meet old friends and make new contacts. Hiring trends in the public sector are getting better and jobs are starting to actually open up after the last two years. We’ll let you know where the future opportunities lie.
Our second planned event is a tour of the 311 Command Center on October 28. This promises to be a fascinating event. On November 13 we will be cosponsoring along with the NYU Student Chapter a talk at NYU with Commissioner Patricia Gatling of the NYC Commission on Human Rights (details forthcoming). We also have a tour being planned in late November/early December to see the latest technology in the NYC Municipal Library.
In addition we are working on other events. Hope to see you on October 2!
